In our world, pearls are usually reserved for royal weddings, family funerals or any other occasion that calls for prim LBDs and perfectly coiffed hair. But a strand of Mignot St. Barth pearls tells a totally different story—think Holly Golightly, bronzed, buzzed and barefoot on the beach. From his island home base, where he lives with his artist wife and four children, globetrotting creator Yvan Mignot strings hand-selected Tahitian black pearls onto the softest of leather cords, setting them off with sea glass, hammered gold, uncut precious stones and other organic elements. This summer, we’ve been wearing ours nonstop—except instead of the cocktail dress and chignon, we’re opting for little black bikini bottoms, tan lines and perfectly sea salt-tousled hair.
